Goodbye, winter!

The Maslenitsya was saw off with a remarkable children’s holiday and after her – winter in Belinskiy central city library. 

The reading room of the library was filled with cheerful voices of the children of all the ages on a sunny Sunday morning, on the 26th of February, 2017. Adults also couldn’t skip such an event, there were enough of seats for everyone. Our steady readers were there and those who visited our library for the first time were pleased with its cozy interior , abundance of new books. 

Organizing of a showing of the cartoons on a huge screen, moreover not just ordinary cartoons but those that were staged on the plot of literary fairytales each last Sunday of each month became a good tradition. On the day of farewelling with winter we not only showed cartoons on the compositions of Lesya Ukrainka but also staged a theatrical play for our dear visitors . The children heard an interesting narration about how Maslenitsya was celebrated in ancient times in Slobozhanshchina, watched cartoons, and what is the most important- took part in a holiday- play “Geenerous Maslyana has come  and brought butter and cheese….” Which was prepared and conducted by personnel of the department of service of Belinskiy central city library.

Astonished kids as if by magic, found themselves in a genuine Ukrainian khata, got acquainted with a cheerful beauty Oksana and her older mother, listened to an interesting story about how Maslyana week was celebrated in Slobozhanshchina, were  guessing  complicated puzzle, helping to defeat an evil Morena which was later burnt outside. 

And after cheerful round dances which were reeling both kids and adults with pleasure, calling for Spring, a festive treating began. Oksana and her mom were inviting everyone to taste rosy pancakes and Slobozhanish uzvar… 

The holiday was completed with burning of an evil Morena and a cheerful round dance.
